Solar in the spring.

Solar in the spring.

Spring and fall are often known as “shoulder” seasons. They are great seasons to have solar because your usage is typically lower than other times of the year and your production is transitioning from winter to summer. Depending on the weather in your area that year, you will likely break even on your energy usage to production. During especially sunny years, you will produce more than you’re using and accumulate some credits!

If you’re looking to switch to solar, spring is a great time to install. It allows you to get ahead of the summer crowd and move through the process faster. There are many variables that determine how quickly you can achieve PTO. By installing in the spring, you can expect to have your system on during late summer/ early fall if things go smoothly.

During the summer months, your production will be at its highest. It allows you to accumulate credits to use during the winter when your production is lower. In the fall, usage and production will likely look similar to spring numbers.

Another great reason to switch to solar in the spring is to take advantage of tax credits. It gives you plenty of wiggle room at the end of the year to ensure that your system generates power before the credit would have to be transferred to the following year’s taxes.
