The Process: Receiving PTO.

Once the panels are on your home, there are a few more steps before they start generating power. Let’s break it down, step-by-step, so you know what to expect from your solar journey!

In our post “The Process: Getting to install.” we broke down steps 1 through 4. Today, let’s break down steps 5 through 8… receiving PTO (permission to operate)

Step 5: Inspection

Now that the panels are on your home, a representative from your local government will come ensure that everything is up to code for your area.

Step 6: PTO Packet Completed

Once the install has been passed by your city, our contractors will complete all the paperwork needed to submit for PTO with your utility company.

Step 7: PTO Submitted

When the packet is complete, we submit it to your utility company and wait to receive approval. Frugll has multiple staff members dedicated to moving your project through the process- specifically this step- as seamless as possible.

Step 8: Permission to operate!

When we receive the green light from your utility, it’s time to see what those shiny new panels can do! Our contractor will contact you with the good news and walk you through what you need to do to turn your panels on. At this point you can also sign into your SunRun portal to get insights on how much your panels are producing.
